I am still missing about 40 Portfolios. If they are not in to me by Wednesday April 9th, you will get a 0 for the final. The Portfolio is 30% of your grade! Please hand them in ASAP! Thank You!

Many of you know that the final of this class is the "Portfolio". You can turn them in from this point forward!! The contents of the portfolio include(in order)....
1)Cover Page
2)Table of Contents
3)Mission Statements
4)Cover Letter
5)Resume
6)2 Letters of Recommendation
7)Thank You Letter
8)References(Personal/Professional)
9)An Application from your Professional Organization
10) Any certificates/certifications/awards
Don't stress out, just make the corrections that I made on your graded work(which should be picked up in Rm 160 in the "Little Black Box") and you will be fine! If you need any assistance let me know! Godspeed!

Class, I posted a new assignment which is due on March 13, 2008. It is a simple "Thank You" letter after your big interview! Also, if you have not turned in any of the assignments, it's not too late!

There was a tiny miscommunication on my part. I originally posted the assignment a different way and I apologize for the inconvenience. Anyways, assignment 3 can be found on pg.167 in your "Career Directions" book. Do 2 of the 5 Behavioral-Based Interview Questions and submit them to me ASAP. Good work guys!

The Little Black Box

I have a Black Box titled, "Career Management" in Room 160. This is for you to pick up your graded assignments! DO NOT DROP OFF YOUR ASSIGNMENTS IN THE BOX!! If you do, you will not receive a grade! Also, people still need to hand in Resumes, Cover Letters and Mission Statements! I love using exclamation points!!!!!! Have a great weekend!!!!!!!

I posted a new Discussion Question which needs to be done by March 5th. Also, I cleaned up the discussion area, so please post in the appropriate place. I also posted a new assignment which needs to be handed in on February 27th! It's a shorter assignment. Keep up the great work guys!!!!!

Discussion Area is GRADED!!!!

I graded the discussion area! You get 20 points each per discussion question because there are 5 for the course. So everybody will see an F as their grade, but that is not true(unless you didn't do any of the questions). Every 2 weeks the grade will go up! Keep up the good work class! Way to stay active!

There is a MANDATORY Graduate Seminar that will be taking place February 26th, 27th and 28th and the times are 10:00am and 5:45pm. You need to contact Amanda Schuetz(aschuetz@miller-motte.net or ext 2022) or Kerrie Tobias-Roth(ktobias@miller-motte.net or ext 2025) and schedule your day and time with them! My office has moved and my extension has changed!

My new office is Office #9! Yes, I moved yet again! Also my new extension is 2031, my voice mail is not set up yet so you will hear Sara Schmidt on my extension. Starting next week, I will have a black box in one of the computer labs so you can pick up your graded assignments! So far I graded everything but the discussion area! Keep up the good work class!

Course Description
Emphasis is placed on the transferable skills and career objectives of each student. Course content includes resume preparation, job search techniques, contact with prospective employers, and practice employment interviews. Students complete professional portfolios for presentation.
